Heating Up Cold Cases: This course is designed for detectives who are currently
working or who may be working on cold or unsolved violent crimes. Emphasis is placed on organization, use of outside
agencies, properly identifying physical and forensic evidence, identifying or eliminating suspects through alibis, homicide
typologies and physical, testimonial and circumstantial evidence. The course will introduce techniques for development
of an investigative plan and copurse of action. Attendees will be presented examples of detailed review and analysis
reports and timelines for presentation to prosecutors. If desired, ample time may be allocated to analysis and
review of student cases.
